Doug Garant, BA, PhD
Dr.
Garant earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychobiology and Human
Biology from Pitzer College and his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from
Georgetown University Schools of Medicine and Dentistry. He has earned
numerous undergraduate and post-graduate research awards from Pitzer
College, the Rush Foundation, and various branches of the National
Institute of Health. He has held Scientist and Research Associate
positions with the US Veterans Administration, Jefferson Medical
College in Philadelphia, Rush Medical College in Chicago, and Albert
Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. Dr. Garant has
over 10 years of graduate level teaching experience at major
universities, including Georgetown University Graduate School and
Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He has been an invited lecturer to
more than 60 prestigious international medical schools and research
centers. His original research and review articles have been published
in numerous medical journals, and he has authored several book
chapters. He has been a peer reviewer for biomedical journals and a
grant reviewer for funding agencies. He is also a member of the Society
for Neuroscience and the American Association for the Advancement of
Science. He is presently a Faculty member of the Institute of
Evidence-Based Chiropractic and the Principal of Garant Consulting,
which provides training and consulting for clients in research,
medicine, and education.
