Cheryl Hawk, DC, MS, PhD
Dr. Hawk is currently Vice President of Research and Scholarship
at Cleveland Chiropractic College. She is also a faculty member of the
Institute of Evidence-Based Chiropractic, and is on the editorial
board for the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics,
Clinical Chiropractic and the Journal of the American Chiropractic
Association. Additionally, Dr. Hawk serves on the American Chiropractic
Association (ACA) Wellness Campaign Committee and the Council on Chiropractic
Guidelines and Practice Parameters as the Team Leader for wellness,
non-musculoskeletal conditions and special populations.
She has been principal author of over 30 articles in peer-reviewed
journals and the primary writer of successful grant and contract
proposals totaling over $5 million. In 2003 she was appointed the
chiropractic representative on the National Advisory Committee for
Interdisciplinary, Community-Based Linkages of the U.S. Health Resources
and Services Administration Bureau of Health Professions. She frequently
lectures nationally and internationally.
Dr. Hawk is a graduate of National College of Chiropractic and
practiced full-time for over a decade. She earned an MS and PhD
in Preventive Medicine from the University of Iowa and also became
a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).
In 2002, she was named “Researcher of the Year” by
the American Chiropractic Association and was honored with the same
title by the Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research
in 2005.
